Get creative! What items around your home could be turned into flower beds? The bigger the container the better, since they hold more soil and allow more space for plants to grow. Make sure to choose containers with holes in the bottom for drainage. Try small containers from the recycling, like plastic clamshells from berries or mixed greens. Go through your shed or basement and find old buckets or clay pots. You can even use a cardboard box lined with a garbage bag. If you’d like to invest in garden containers you can reuse year after year, try Earth Boxes or Vivosun grow bags.
Keep your containers in a sunny spot either indoors or in your yard.
