Celebrate Cranberries, October’s Harvest of the Month

Cranberries are an important part of the history of the Cape and Islands. One of North America's three native fruits that is still in regular cultivation, the cranberry industry is declining in our region. The Vineyard Open Land Foundation (VOLF) has been working to restore an old Cranberry Bog in West Tisbury. Currently, this is the island's only commercial bog! We'd love to hear your stories and experiences with Cranberries, as we work to educate our island's youth about the history of cranberries. Please, share your favorite recipes, and perhaps we can use them in the classroom. This October, let's celebrate this important fruit, one whose connection is tied deeply into the fabric of our island. Cranberry Information Poster. Chef Robin's Cranberry Relish recipe.
