Island Grown Schools Seeks Education Intern

Island Grown Schools Seeks Academic Year Education Intern Island Grown Schools, the farm to school program on Martha’s Vineyard, seeks a school garden educator to work alongside our school coordinators in an internship program, from May 1 2014 through late June 2015. We currently work with seven schools, serving students in grades K through 12. Responsibilities will include leading in-class lessons, garden-based lessons, farm field trips, and after school gardening programs with children of all ages, with a focus on K-8 classrooms. Compensation will be $15,000 for the period of the internship. IGS will provide training and professional development opportunities, including an orientation period and the chance to attend off-island conferences and workshops. Intern must have garden education experience, strong organizational skills, and a comfort level with leading a wide range of lessons for classes in indoor and outdoor learning environments.
