In school we study cranberries through the lens of the Wampanoag people, who celebrated Cranberry Day on October 11th this year. It is a day for giving thanks for the year's harvest. Through the winter Wampanoags depended on the cranberry for its Vitamin C in traditional recipes like Nasaump - a cornmeal and berry porridge. We made this together in school last year and it was delicious. Check out our info poster for the many health benefits of the cranberry, and try this month's vinaigrette recipe on a fall salad.
