Celebrate Eggs, March's Harvest of the Month

Local eggs are abundant in the Spring, as the days get longer and warmer the chickens start to lay more eggs. The varied diet of a chicken who lives on pasture and who forages for bugs and grass creates an egg with higher nutritional value. Though this eggs can sometimes cost $5 or $6 a dozen, that's still less than 50 cents per egg. Look for local eggs at Cronig's Market, Tisbury Farm Market or at farm stands around the island.
