We are hiring!

Island Grown Schools Seeks Full-Time Program Manager

Island Grown Schools seeks an experienced, passionate farm to school advocate to serve as the Program
Manager of our 10-year old farm to school program on Martha's Vineyard. The Program Manager
oversees and supports our 8-member staff team, continues the development of our preschool-12th
grade curricular resources, coordinates trainings and travels to conferences to help share the IGS farm
to school model, and helps strategize the further growth of our vibrant program.

Island Grown Schools brings school garden-based learning, healthy, locally grown food, and food and
nutrition education to almost every school aged child on Martha's Vineyard, at all of our seven public
schools and at 10 preschools. We have full-time and part-time educators at every school who help
deliver our frameworks-tied curriculum to more than 2,000 children each year. We also coordinate a
Harvest of the Month program and bring monthly taste tests of local foods to every school, lead field
trips to our local family farms, and support the use of locally grown food in school meals. IGS works in
partnership with a number of other island nonprofits to bring cooking classes, outdoor education, and
healthy food access to the community.

The Program Manager position is a 40 hour/week, year-round role. Compensation will be in the $45-
55,000 range based on experience. We seek candidates who have a background in farm to school
programs, and have a familiarity with teaching, gardening, and curriculum development. Qualified
applicants should have demonstrated ability to lead a team and work collaboratively. Preference given
to candidates with language proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese.
