Seeding Spring Greens

Lots of greens like to be planted in the spring when the weather is still cool. Follow along with Suzie as she seeds some spinach, arugula, and lettuce.

How to Seed Greens:

  1. Pick your seeds- some greens that like to be planted this time of year are arugula, spinach, lettuce, kale, and chard. It's also a good time to plant peas, radishes, carrots, and beets.
  2. Pick a place to plant- choose a space that's not too close to other plants, where your seeds will have plenty of room to grow
  3. Make a trench or furrow- check your seed packet for the correct depth
  4. Sow the seeds at the right spacing
  5. Cover lightly with soil
  6. Add nutrients to the soil- Click here to learn more about soil amendments
